Franklin and Lamar

The “Franklin and Lamar” mission is one of the first story Missions in Grand Theft Auto V. It introduces players to Franklin Clinton and his friend Lamar Davis, setting the stage for Franklin’s role in the game’s narrative.

This mission tasks Franklin and Lamar with repossessing two high-end sports Cars for Simeon Yetarian, a car dealer who specializes in repossessing Vehicles from clients who default on their payments. Players will engage in a high-speed chase and get familiar with the driving mechanics in GTA V.

Objectives

• Control Franklin and drive to the destination with Lamar.

Setting

The mission takes place in South Los Santos, where Franklin and Lamar pursue and repossess luxury Cars. Players will get a feel for the urban environment, high-speed driving, and interactions between the Characters.

Objective 1: Head to the Dealership

• Drive to Simeon’s Dealership: After the opening cutscene, get in the car and drive to the dealership with Lamar. Follow the GPS directions on your map to reach the location.
• Practice Driving: This section introduces the driving mechanics. Use the left analog stick (or W/A/S/D on PC) to steer, and the right trigger to accelerate.

Objective 2: Repo the Cars

• Choose a Car: Once at the dealership, choose between the two high-end sports Cars – a white and a red car.
• Follow Lamar: Lamar will take the other car. Stay close behind him as he leads the chase through the city.

Objective 3: High-Speed Chase

• Chase Lamar: Drive at high speeds through the narrow streets of Los Santos. Be prepared to make sharp turns and avoid obstacles.
• Use Franklin’s Special Ability: When driving at high speeds, activate Franklin’s special ability to slow down time and make tight turns easier.

Objective 4: Evade the Police

• Lose the Cops: After the chase, the police will be alerted. Use alleys, side streets, and Franklin’s driving skills to lose your wanted level.
• Hide from the Police: Find a safe spot (alley or parking garage) to hide until your wanted level drops.

Objective 5: Deliver the Car

• Head to the Dealership: Once you’ve lost the cops, follow the GPS to return the car to Simeon’s dealership.
• Mission End: A cutscene will play when you arrive, wrapping up the mission.

Mission Conclusion

• Cutscene: Franklin and Lamar return the Cars, but things quickly escalate as Simeon and Franklin have a heated exchange. This mission sets the stage for Franklin’s deeper involvement in the game’s plot.
• Rewards: Completion of this mission unlocks the ability to switch between Franklin and Michael in the game.
