About GTA V's Vehicles

Grand Theft Auto V and its online counterpart ship with the largest, most varied vehicle roster in the series — well over 470 drivable rides at last count, with Rockstar still adding new vehicles through GTA Online updates. Every car has a real-world inspiration filtered through the game's parody manufacturers — Pegassi for Lamborghini, Truffade for Bugatti, Grotti for Ferrari, Bravado for Dodge, Karin for Toyota, Albany for Cadillac.

The fastest production car in the base game is the Truffade Adder — a Bugatti Veyron analogue that tops out around 155 mph. Online expansions have since added faster supercars including the Progen T20, Pegassi Zentorno, Overflod Entity XF and Pfister 811. For raw acceleration, tuner sports cars like the Karin Sultan RS and Annis Elegy RH8 (Franklin's signature ride) consistently win short drag races.

Beyond ground vehicles, the catalog includes 58 aircraft — from the supersonic Hydra VTOL fighter and P-996 Lazer to civilian props, blimps, the Cargobob heavy lifter and the Akula stealth chopper. 18 watercraft cover the Pacific coast, including the player-owned Kosatka submarine introduced with the Cayo Perico Heist. The Special vehicles category houses the weaponised platforms — the Rhino tank, TM-02 Khanjali, Insurgent — plus non-combat oddities like trains, the Mount Chiliad cable car and the Thruster Jetpack.

Most vehicles can be modified at Los Santos Customs — engine tuning, body kits, paint, armor, wheels and weapons depending on the vehicle class. Story-mode protagonists each have a signature ride: Michael's white Obey Tailgater, Franklin's Bravado Buffalo (later upgraded to the Elegy RH8), and Trevor's rusted Bravado Bison pickup from Sandy Shores.
