Sidearms and revolvers — the Pistol, Combat Pistol, AP Pistol, Heavy Revolver, Stun Gun and more. The most common firearms in the game world.
SMGs
Submachine guns and machine pistols — rapid-fire, magazine-fed close-quarters weapons. Includes the SMG, Combat PDW and Assault SMG.
Assault Rifles
Medium-range automatic rifles — Assault Rifle, Carbine Rifle, Special Carbine, Bullpup Rifle and military variants.
Shotguns
Close-range scatter weapons — Pump Shotgun, Sawed-Off, Assault Shotgun, Heavy Shotgun and the period Musket.
Sniper Rifles

Grenades, Molotov Cocktails, Sticky Bombs, Proximity Mines, BZ Gas, Tear Gas, Pipe Bombs — area-denial and demolition tools.

About GTA V's Arsenal
Weapons in Grand Theft Auto V are purchased from Ammu-Nation, picked up from defeated enemies, or unlocked through story-mission progression. Each weapon belongs to a specific class that determines what ammunition it shares with other weapons, what attachments are available, and which holster slot it occupies.
Most weapons accept customization at Ammu-Nation — including suppressors, extended magazines, flashlights, scopes, and a wide range of cosmetic tints. The Give All Weapons cheat unlocks the entire arsenal with maximum ammunition, though it disables achievement progress for the current session.
Several weapons are uniquely unlocked through specific achievements or Strangers & Freaks missions — the Golf Club is sold at the Los Santos Golf Club pro shop, while the Navy Revolver requires completing the Red Dead Online crossover treasure hunt.
